Visioni festival 2020 has been cancelled
February 24th, 2020 – Due to the COVID-19 Coronavirus emergency, the International festival of theatre and culture for early years audiences “Visioni di futuro, visioni di teatro…” has been cancelled. The annual festival is organized since 2004 in Bologna, Italy, by our partner La Baracca-Testoni Ragazzi.
Here you can read the message sent by La Baracca staff to inform the delegates ready to take part in the festival:
“Dear guests,
The situation got critical in during the weekend and, yesterday night, authorities announced that all cultural places have to be closed till 1st of March, but probably for a longer period due to the evolving situation. We have decided not to go on with Visioni2020: the festival will not be, at least not in this moment. Schools are closed, so no children will be able to attend the shows, and many operators did already cancel their reservation. At this time we are trying to see what to do, if it is possible to postpone the festival later in 2020 or to focus on 2021 edition.
Here in Bologna there are no cases of infection yet, but isolation is suggested by the government and some flights may be blocked, so in case you came here you might have troubles in going back home.
We have started working on Visioni 2020 on May 2019, and in one weekend all this work became vain. We are trying to cancel all the travel and hotel reservations we did, and we advise you to do the same.
We are extremely sorry and will keep you up to date”.
