BIM BAM FESTIVAL 2019

BIM BAM 2019, Toihaus Theater’s festival for early years, took place in Salzburg March 9th-30th. The festival hosted more than 60 shows from eight nations: Poland, Italy, Germany, Austria, Mexico, Netherlands, Sweden and Japan. The festival also included productions of some Mapping partners, such as Teatr Animaczy, Teater Tre, Helios Theater (Germany) and La Baracca – Testoni Ragazzi (Italy), as well as workshops and other training activities. Among these, the festival hosted the first Image work group of Mapping project starting its research on the Map.

For its first steps, the Image group decided to host a three days workshop, Moving in Space. The Finnish artist Kalle Nio introduced to the workshop participants different ways of using video projections, basic knowledge on digital tools and several variations of their use in the the­atre. The Image work group is led by Uroš Korenčan from Lutkovno gledališče Ljubljana and includes artists from Teatro Paraíso, Teatr Animacji and Théâtre de la Guimbarde -take a look to the People working on Mapping!

A total of 64 performances and 5 workshops were given. 3,440 people attended the performances, including 2,028 children and 1,412 adults. 95% of all performances, including workshops and guest performances, were sold out.
